Following our recent visit to Clayton High School, we want to take a moment to share why this workshop was so important. At Vividbound, we believe that prevention starts with education and that includes equipping teens with the tools to recognize and navigate the difference between healthy and toxic relationships.
Presenting "Vibes Don’t Lie: Recognizing Healthy vs. Toxic Relationships" to students in grades 9 through 12 wasn’t just timely it was vital. These conversations help young people learn to trust their instincts, set boundaries, and build relationships rooted in respect and mutual care.
This workshop aligned directly with Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) by promoting consent education, breaking down harmful relationship patterns, and giving students a safe space to ask real questions. Early intervention and education are key in preventing future abuse.
To the students and staff at Clayton High School: Thank you for your openness, your engagement, and your willingness to have these important discussions. You’re helping create a safer, more compassionate future and we’re honored to be part of that journey.

Thursday evenings Vividbound host virtual support group sessions for the clients of Vividbound. One of the Thursday evening sessions entailed us covering the topic: "Cultivating Confidence from Within". We were blessed and honored to have Teniqua Dennis join the Vividbound support group session to host a powerful workshop titled "Create or Update Your Recipe: Self-Care, Confidence, and Self-Worth". Teniqua joined us by way of Vividbound's partnership with StandUp-SpeakOut (SUSO) NC, which is a collaboration of us coming together for the month of April in honor of SAAM.
Moreover, Teniqua rocked the room with her empowering workshop. In this restorative and deeply reflective session, Teniqua guided participants through the process of reconnecting with themselves, beyond expectations, past survival mode, and into alignment with who they’re becoming.
Through story, guided reflection, and honest conversation, women explored what self-care looks like when it’s real, how to rebuild confidence without pretending, and what it means to hold self-worth without having to earn it.
This space was more than a session, it was a return to truth, permission, and personal power.
To find out more about Teniqua and SUSO check them out. This partnership and experience has been a blessing for the Vividbound Village.

April 26th was a true testimony to the beauty of being obedient to the calling placed on our hearts.
When we trust the process even when it's hard, even when it feels uncertain, God moves in ways we could never imagine.
Closing out the final day of our 12-week Empowering Connections: Building Healthy Relationships support group program was a beautifully emotional experience. Tears were shed, hearts were opened, healing was embraced, and transformation was witnessed.
April 26th wasn’t just an ending it was a reminder that growth happens when we surrender, stay faithful, and keep stepping forward even when we can’t yet see the full picture.
We are in awe of the strength, courage, and connection that filled the room. This is what healing looks like. This is what community feels like.
We concluded our last day of the 12-week support group program with a ceremony that included a musical performance by the Jamar Allen and the band 7:07 (Tru and Corey), a sophisticated magic card show hosted by Jeff Altman, and words of encouragement presented by Yvonne Johnson (she also donated gift bags along with her book to all the attendees "Beauty Beneath the Scars")
This is just the beginning.
