October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM). Unfortunately, domestic violence continues to be a pervasive social and public health crisis that crosses all lines of class, race, ethnicity, and sexuality. Each year, 10 million women and men within the U.S. experienced domestic violence. There are many forms of abuse, which are:
* physical abuse
*sexual abuse
* domestic violence/abuse
*psychological/emotional abuse
*neglect/abandonment
* financial/material abuse
*discriminatory abuse
*workplace violence or organizational/industrial abuse
and more
We are so thankful for Mika! She hosted FREE virtual Gental Yoga Flow sessions throughout the month of October in honor of DVAM. During her FREE virtual Gental Yoga Flow sessions she discussed the obstacles DV survivor's encounter. Additionally, Mika encouraged those who attended her FREE virtual Gental Yoga Flow sessions to donate to the needs of the 50 plus Vividbound survivor's care packages.
Fortunately, the needs for the 50 plus Vividbound survivors care packages were met! Over 50 women and their children who lack resources and have endured DV/SA were gifted Vividbound's survivors care packages.
Vividbound is honored to have Mika's partnership! Thank you, Mika, for being part of the Vividbound village.

Sadly, research has shown the prevalence of child sexual abuse is difficult to determine because it is often not reported; many experts agree that the incidence is far greater than what is reported to authorities. Studies have shown that a child who has endured prolonged sexual abuse usually develops low self-esteem, feelings of worthlessness, suicidal ideation, mistrust of others, withdrawn from others, etc.
Author Krystaelynne Sanders Diggs has a mission to empower children through education and positive self-esteem. Her goals are to help children grow into strong adults who can face life's challenges head-on with confidence. Vividbound is honored to work with Krystaelynne and her mission.
Additionally, Krystaelynne has partnered with Vividbound's Community Outreach Event by donating her books to Vividbound. She also supported Vividbound by offering an opportunity for the community to donate purchased books from her website to Vividbound directly. In addition, throughout the month of October in honor of DVAM, Krystaelynne provided a discount code on her books.
Unfortunately, Vividbound's needs have recently increased due to more children being placed into foster care due to domestic violence. As a result, Vividbound is in need of more books to go into the Vividbound children's survivors care package/backpack.
For those who are interested in supporting Vividbound's request for additional books by Krystaelynne, please send an email message using the Vividbound contact us tab located at the top of this page or click on the purple message box located in the lower right corner of your screen.
Below are a few of the books being requested. When clicking on the images of the books below, you will automatically be directed to Krystaelynne's website.
Make a difference by supporting our mission!
Most importantly, Vividbound is graciously honored to have Krystaelynne's partnership! Thank you Krystaelynne for being part of Vividbound's village.
"In 2001, the National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC) launched their first SAAM campaign to better educate the public about their role in sexual assault prevention. Eight years later, President Barack Obama officially declared April as SAAM. And to all of you who are survivors of sexual violence, we believe you, and we stand with you"
